Documents show Melbourne college student arrested in Miami-Dade over child and animal sex abuse photos

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – On Saturday, in a Miami-Dade County courtroom, an 18-year-old man facing charges related to child and animal sexual abuse images wore a green anti-suicide apron.

Miami-Dade County District Judge Jason Emilios Dimitris presided over the bond hearing. Dariel Baques identified himself as a student at the Florida Institute of Technology, a private research university in Melbourne.

Miami-Dade County inmate records show corrections officers booked Baques at 12:30 a.m. Friday at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Baques faces 12 charges: six counts of possessing images depicting sexual activity by a child and six counts of causing/aiding/othering sexual conduct with animals.

Dimitris, who normally works in MDC Children’s Court, set bail at $3,000 for two counts and released him on a plea to the remaining 10 counts.
