AAP involved in serious criminal activities: BJP

A day after AAP president and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal targeted the Center and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged rise in crime in Delhi and turning it into a ‘gangster capital’, the BJP on Saturday hit back and alleged that The AAP is involved in serious criminal activities, accusing one of its MLAs Naresh Balyan of carrying out extortion activities with the party’s consent.

In a post on X, the BJP played an audio clip of AAP MLA Naresh Balyan’s alleged conversation with a gangster. “Ye hain AAP ke ‘Kattar Imandaar’… Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Balyan in conversation with gangster. Gangster asks why AAP leader filed complaint against him. Balyan replies that he was blackmailed by the gangster and his goons. The gangster replies that he would make a viral video of Balyan, after which the MLA turns around and starts singing like a canary,” the BJP said. “In another conversation, a close associate of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Balyan talks to a gangster about a land deal and blackmails several other businessmen. In the garb of Imaandaari, these AAP fraudsters are only doing Gundagardi!” he added.

BJP’s IT chief Amit Malviya also targeted the AAP chief in a series of posts on X. “…Arvind Kejriwal runs an extortion ring in Delhi and then blames the BJP for the poor law and order situation,” Malviya said. “…AAP has turned Delhi into a cesspool of corruption,” he added.

Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia and Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva played an audio clip of an alleged conversation between an AAP MLA and a gangster. Bhatia alleged that AAP MLA Naresh Balyan was engaging in criminal activities with the consent of party chief Arvind Kejriwal and questioned whether the MLA would be expelled from the party. Bhatia alleged that the audio recording revealed Balyan discussing threats and intimidation tactics to extort money from the construction company. He alleged that such behavior reflects the character of AAP and its leadership.

“Who is their (AAP) biggest supporter? This is a gangster who openly extorts money. And who is asking them to do this? Is he who has taken oath on the Constitution openly extorting money with Kejriwal’s consent?” – he asked. AAP MLA or it would be better if I said extortionist MLA Naresh Balyan is talking to a gangster in this audio clip. MLA talks to gangster like his brother. The MLA indicates that a certain builder, a certain person, is being called out, intimidated and intimidated. They discuss how to intensify threats, demand ransoms and distribute the collected money. Such behavior cannot be acceptable for any MLA, but if the MLA comes from the party of dishonest party president Arvind Kejriwal, then it is possible,” he said.

Drawing parallels with the BJP-led Center, Bhatia said, “On the one hand, the law and order situation in Delhi is the responsibility of the Center and it is our responsibility to make everyone feel safe. On the other hand, the elected government of Delhi, which has taken an oath to the constitution, is threatening Delhiites and making them feel insecure.

Bhatia also questioned Kejriwal’s silence on the matter and demanded Balyan’s expulsion from the party.
