Multiple people were injured after a car collided with an RTA bus in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A car collided with a Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority bus on the city’s east side Friday evening.

GCRTA’s Bob Fleig confirmed that around 9 p.m., near East 26th Street and St. Clair Avenue, a car running a red light hit an RTA bus.

Following the accident, GCRTA Transit Police, Cleveland Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene.

According to Fleig, the driver of the car was transported to MetroHealth Hospital.

Cleveland Fire said a 51-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth Hospital and a 17-year-old girl was taken to University Hospitals.

Three other people refused treatment and transport, according to Cleveland Fire

According to Fleig, the bus is fine.

GCRTA told 19 News surveillance footage will be released in the coming days.
