ROAD CLOSED: Driver seriously injured in single-vehicle crash in Mississauga

A driver was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police said in a social media post that officers responded to a collision Saturday morning shortly after 7 a.m. at Derry Road East and Dixie Road.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a trauma center, although no information is available on his condition.

Additionally, officials did not provide more information about the driver, including his age, location or whether he was male or female.

Authorities have closed Derry Road between Dixie Road and Telford Way and drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes.

The causes of the crash are still under investigation and police say updates will be provided as soon as they become available.
