Indian student from Telangana shot dead in Chicago – The Week

An Indian student was shot dead by miscreants at a gas station near Chicago in the United States where he worked.

The student was identified as Sai Teja Nukarapu, 22, from Khammam district in Telangana. Sai was shot dead on Saturday morning (IST), said BRS MLC Madhusudan Thatha.

Madhusudan Thatha informed Sai’s family about the incident. His parents said Sai was off duty when the incident occurred but was helping a friend who asked him to stay for some time.

Sai Teja completed his BBA in India and pursued his MBA in the USA. Sai, in parallel with his studies, worked part-time. “It is sad that Sai Teja was shot dead while he stayed at his workplace to help a friend,” the relative said.

MLC officials said he has spoken to members of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for help in connection with the incident. The body is expected to reach India next week.

In another case, a 23-year-old Indian student accidentally fired a gun and shot himself while celebrating his birthday in Atlanta. The incident took place on November 13. The deceased was identified as Aryan Reddy from Bhuvanagiri district in Telangana.

It was reported that Reddy, a sophomore at Kansas State University in Atlanta, took out a gun to clean it.

Reddy’s neighborhood friends found him in a pool of blood.
